The Bioenergy Cluster for the Region joins activities aimed at improving the energy balance of central Poland

27-07-2022

The Bioenergy for the Region Cluster, coordinated by the Research and Innovation Center Pro-Akademia, has undertaken activities aimed at taking advantage of the opportunities offered to the Member States by the European Commission within the REPowerEU plan. RePowerEU is a response to the difficulties and distortions in the global energy market. It is to support deep transformation processes of the EU's energy supply systems.

For the members of the BdlaR Cluster, the REPowerEU plan as well as the "Fit for 55" package are great opportunities to increase innovation and to change the energy structure in the area of their operations, i.e. central Poland.

We are especially interested in:

  • a special EU's Solar Energy Strategy, presumed at doubling the photovoltaic potential by 2025,
  • the Solar Rooftop initiative, which foresees the gradual introduction of a legal obligation to install solar panels in new public and commercial buildings and in new residential buildings;
  • doubling the pace of deploying heat pumps to modernized local and municipal heating systems;
  • development of renewable hydrogen production technology.
